Susan will be your lead presenter and host for the retreat weekend. Susan will guide you thru the weekend as well as present the following sessions:
THE ENERGY EQUATION: OVERVIEW
Presented in an interactive format, this session will provide you with foundational information about The Energy Equation approach to living as a foundation for the retreat’s goal: to provide a venue for participants to practice The Energy Equation principles for the weekend. You will create a take home piece that will remind you of the 10 Principles of The Energy Equation.
LISTEN TO YOUR INNER SONG
This session will provide a fun opportunity to practice your ‘listening’ skills as you listen to inner guidance stepping you through the entire music based activity.
CHISELED IN STONE
We will take your word from the Mandala activity and create a word stone for you to take home as your daily reminder.
DE-CLUTTERING 201: THE BUYING DIET This session will follow up where we left off last year. We will focus this year on NOT buying items that end up as clutter. You will be amazed at what is being discovered in the exciting emerging field of Neuroeconomics. Scientists are learning WHY we buy these things and we will use that info as we explore strategies to put ourselves on a Buying Diet!

Susan Mikolic is a registered nurse, teacher, consultant, and speaker whose mission is to help others learn how to experience positive transformation and reach their full potential. Susan created and teaches a comprehensive approach to living that acknowledges the intricate relationship between mind, body and spirit called The Energy Equation System. Susan created The Energy Equation System as she struggled to overcome many physical, professional and personal challenges and now shares her lessons learned with audiences around the country.
The basis of the Energy Equation System is a set of strategies used to determine how daily lifestyle choices affect one’s health, energy, peace of mind, and life balance. The practice of the principals helps one move from a “negative Energy Equation” where one typically experiences life as draining, frustrating, and defeating, to living in a “positive Energy Equation” where one is at peace, experiencing life as energizing, exciting and satisfying.

I did not choose to become involved in healing work. You could say that a life of healing found me.
In 1993, I was in a serious car accident that left me suffering from a variety of physical and emotional illnesses. For months, I sought help from doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors in an effort to alleviate my physical suffering. At the same time, I moved from therapist to therapist in a desperate search for relief from debilitating panic attacks and depression.
For two years, I explored every conventional avenue of healing, but with no success. I realized I was at a turning point: I could either accept a life of suffering or I could take a courageous leap into the unfamiliar world of complementary medicine. I chose the latter.
In the midst of my most profound crisis yet, I noticed a tiny ad for Reiki in a small local paper. It promised "gentle, healing therapy" to be administered by a nurse. I somehow knew that God had answered my pleas for help.
After only two appointments, I not only experienced dramatic improvement in my physical condition and emotional state, I suddenly knew that this would be my calling. While I still believe that conventional medical practitioners are critical to the healing process, it became very clear that the total healing we ultimately look for can only be achieved within ourselves. Until the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives are balanced, complete healing is not possible.
I began my healing ministry by serving for four years in Pastoral Care Programs at two different hospitals. I found the work extremely rewarding and felt honored to be able to offer comfort to patients through laying- on- of- hands prayer. As a Catholic Eucharistic Minister, I was also able to bring communion to any patients who desired this gift. At the same time, I began my private practice in my home. Within one year I was also seeing hospice patients, a part of my ministry that has been a blessing in my life for which I am deeply grateful.
Although people often refer to me as healer, I prefer to think of myself as a teacher. I see my ministry as an opportunity to teach people how to heal themselves and to also remind them of God's magnificent and unconditional love for us. It is my firm belief that the human body is capable of healing itself. I have witnessed this time and time again, not only in my own healing journey, but also with the clients I see. God has given us the resources we need to make that happen. Teaching people how to access those resources is truly my purpose and goal.
I am grateful to say after learning and applying these wonderful techniques in my own life, I feel healthy, peaceful and balanced on all levels. More importantly, I know that God is the cornerstone of my life and my ministry.

Dina believes that ultimate wellness, is achieved by addressing the underlying causes of our health issues, rather than dampening the symptoms alone. Similarly, weight loss incorporates balancing and restoring our health and our bodies on many levels, not just counting calories or points.

Joan's life experience is a potpourri of diverse activities. From synchronized swim coach, to patent paralegal, to entrepreneur (the owner/operator and hostess of Idlewyld B&B), her underlying personal focus is on those things spiritual. Although she makes no claim to a high level of expertise in mandala work (that would take a lifetime of training), she has presented the opportunity to enter one of the meditative aspects of spirituality by creating a mandala having facilitating several Artist's Way groups and teaching at the Rhein Art Center in Lakeside.
